truck up and died tonight

Was headed to town tonight and the old girl shut down just like a gasser would if you turned off the key.pulled off the road and started doing some looking around. there is no shut off solenoid in my truck, so that was not the problem. there was plenty of fuel at the fuel filter so the new fuel pump was good. got a wrench out of the back of the truck and broke loose # 1 and 2 fuel lines at the injectors and there was fuel there when we cranked her over but she still wouldnt fire. broke 3 and 4 loose and fuel came out and she fired up, but ran real rough. tightened the lines down and fired her up and brought her up above an idle for a few seconds and she smoothed out and ran good. now the only thing that I can think of is maybe a piece of the 2 fuel shut off plunger tips that got pulled off could have gotten pulled into an area of the pump that would cause this. has anyone else had this happen.

I think you should replace the fuel hoses.

Yeah, I think it's air. Cracking the lines got 'er fired right back up. It's pretty common on the older trucks to have fuel line problems.

thank's Wanna, I'll crawl under her today and check on the lines. maybe that's why I only get 13 mpg with the old girl.
