So im pretty sure the short in on the blue wire coming off the ignition switch. Anyone know where it goes once it gets past the firewall and into the engine bay?

The blue wire provides power to the shutoff solenoid and several other things. Where I have seen that wire short several times is behind the plate on the side of the injector pump that the throttle cables attach to. The shutoff solenoid wire snakes between that plate and the injection lines and can get chafed. Follow its harness along to the back of the engine and you may see more questionable spots too.

Check for chafed wires where the wires go over the brake booster.

There's a splice behind the fuel filter that is wrapped in friction tape from the factory. A few messy filter changes later, the tape falls off, and ZAP. So check there.

ha! i found that but I'm not sure if that was the problem. i pulled the loom out all the way from the trans and the blue wire and another were missing a bunch of insulation, either way, its fixed now.

only problem is, when pulling apart my transmission wiring i neglected to note where everything went and now i have a small two prong weather pack plug that i can't find a home for. it has a red seal. for some reason i want to say it went nowhere but i cant really remember.

Check the codes and find out what the PCM is upset about before you start guessing.

Check the sticky. All you need is the ignition key.
