Truck just died on freeway
I have been adding my used oil to the fuel, in a ratio of one-to-twenty, for many years, with no issues whatsoever.
I stop doing it in about mid-October and start back about May.
I have, so far, never had a filter problem due to the used oil.
If it will clog the fuel-filter, how is it going to get through the engine-oil filter ??
I always strain through a paint-filter, then run it through an old Mr-Coffee filter-holder with a fresh coffee filter.
It takes about twenty-four hours for a gallon of used oil to pass through the coffee-filter.
I keep a spare solenoid in the truck, you can cross reference the P/N to the bosch number and order it from rockauto.com for 45.00, I had a coupon from them for free shipping. I thought that was the best price I could find!
The only time that happened to me it was a bad lift pump. As I recall, it was about the same crappy 2 degrees with wind, like now!
... not the best to start walking but some guy took pity on me and gave me a ride the rest of the way.

I guess it's pull cable time . . .took out solenoid, pumped primer handle . . fuel flowed freely. Tried to start truck, batt was to dead from messing with things . . did have it firing tho.
i wish i knew how to do graphics i would build with help a nice diagnosis tree that anyone could follow and let folks print it out and carry in there rig. i could see part numbers and suggestions on how to do a road side repair. hmmmm
