Twice now while driving down the freeway about a month apart when I let off the gas completely the truck just died just shut off. Coasted to the shoulder and it restarted and ran just fine. The only code that showed up is P513 but the check engine light is not on (3 key trick). Anyone have any suggestions before this happens to me during rush hour traffic.

ever happen when stopped? like when you go to stop at an intersection?

or just the highway?

 

P0513= invalid skim key.

Do you have a command start or aftermarket alarm or anything?

 

Never when I was stopped just when I let off the gas while traveling down the freeway.

No alarms or remote start just have the X2 installed. Has happened with the commander connected and without it connected.

 

time for a new key

 

I don't think the 513 code is an issue, lots have reported it here with no ill effects, I've got that code and no problems, for over a year. Haven't read an explanation for it anywhere yet either.
