Died on freeway again . . . .AAAAAARGGGGG!!!

Truck sat out all night on a 9 degree night. About noon I went out to go to work. Truck started right up. . idled a few while i got ready. Drove it about 10 miles on freeway before it started running funny & quit. Won't restart.

Does this sound Gelled to you guys??
BTW .. tank has 1 gallon of used oil in 14 gallons of diesel.

I quit the used oil before cold weather and resume in the spring.

I need to do some freezer testing on just how it is affected compared to straight fuel, before I trust to run it in cold weather.

You make no mention whether you are using an anti-gel treatment.

What you described sounds like a typical gelling.

The fuel was probably borderline, sitting still in the driveway, and the ice-cold air blowing under the truck finished it off.

Also, fuel will really cool down, when forced through lines under pressure, and then being released of the pressure suddenly, as in leaving a small fuel-line and entering the more spaceous confines of the filter, sort of the same way the refrigerant in the A/C works.

When did you last change filters ??

Check to see if the fuel heater is working. Sounds like the filter waxed up.
