Ok I am Realy sick of this 5 speed. I wanted to Put an E4OD in but Im thinking it would be alot less expensive to do a Dodge Trans. Can someone tell me If there is a 4 speed auto that dont need any electronics? I was told there should be one from a First Gen that is Cable operated? Is this true? I would also need to Hook my Transfer case up But I have also heard Advance Adapters has that. Or maybe use a Dodge TC but Which one will work that has Drivers side output?
Thanks in Advance,

Where in Colorado are you. I live in Grand Junction. there is a guy in Utah that goes by the name of Maddog. He has a cummins in front of an E4OD. He has, I believe, the Fastest cummins pick-up out there. Its in a late model Ford.
The other problem is the first gens have 205 transfercases and the front Differential is on the right side like a chevy. I believe a second gen set-up with the left Differential like a Ford would be the way to go. They were nonelectronic from 94 to early 98. Im sure there are others on here that know more about the second gen nonelectonic transmissions. Good luck

Thank You, Yes I Know Richard (AKA Maddog) And he is running a BTS E4OD With a Titanium Input Shaft with a Bauman Computer to make it shift. However were talking around $4000+ for that option But I agree its a good way to go Just not for me. I am hopeing to acuire a Dodge Trans for a Few hundred and a Few Hundred for extras. That would atleast get me by until I could afford a E4OD which Might be NEVER
I should have NEVER put this 5Speed in But it seemed like my only choice at the time. I drove Semi for 14 years and Hated Shifting them So I should have Known I would hate shifting a pickup.

The A-518 requires minimal electronics and you can just get a FORD 205 to hook up to it should be very similar as our dodge 205. If you are going to use a dodge trans then the A-618 or 47RH would be the best choice because you would have a lockup convertor which could be switched manually in the cab. The 47rh also has some pretty stout components in it as well. Not that the A-518 doesn't. Have Fun.

47RH uses basically the same case as a a-518 727 etc etc... The only difference is you need the thicker adapter plate for the engine and a long nose starter to go with it. But you should be able to make it work with whatever t-case you want to use. Me personally I like the 205. Cast Iron gear driven just says yes to me. Obviously I have never done what you are trying to do but I think that it is very doable with "off the shelf stuff".
