Transmission swap info
Well, 2 years ago I put a 6 speed in a 2WD 92. it was lots of work but I still love it.
A week ago I put an NV4500 5 speed in place of the Getrag in my 4WD 92. Most people that have done either of these updates know you have to change the engine adapter and starter.
I did however attempt to use the first gen starter because 2 of the 3 mount bolt holes do line up. Bad news the starter wont engage, so any updates will definately require the 94 and up starter.
