Transmission questions
I was wondering if there are kits to put eaton nine or seven speed trannys in our trucks and does anyone know if they have heavy duty getgar g360 shift forks. Thanks
I don't know if there is or not, but you could also check these guys out. www.gearvendors.com

If you are going to go through all that work for a big truck trans then you might as well just put an 18 speed in it that way you will have all kinds of ratios at your finger tips.
Correct. The SAE housing is round and deeper than the adapter plate and bellhousing used on the Getrag. You can modify the floor but would also have to modify the heater/AC box due to interference. You would need everything between the bare back of the engine block and the driveshaft yoke from the donor medium duty truck. Your transmission mounting would require modification or you could use the side mounts from the SAE housing by modifying the frame. Then you still have the clutch slave cylinder to deal with. For the overall cost, time, and aggravations it would be easier and more cost effective to rebuild what you already have a couple of times in relationship to what it would end up costing. You also end up with a truck that has a decreased trade in or resale value because it has a transmission that not everybody wants or can drive.
