transmission question
transmission question
hey guys my tranny seems to stay in 1st gear 3-4 sec's longer than usual then it shifts into 2nd. this just started happening, it delays before going into 2nd gear. just want some input on what you guys might think is wrong. Thanks
does it do it when you first start driving it? Cold could delay a shift till it warms up. Seems when you let off real quick it doesn't have engine braking. Does it have both symptoms after the trans gets warm? Might be because of the cold.
The transmission still delays shifting even after its warmed up. not sure on the rpms droping because of the cold, i'll start the truck up and let it run for a little, then try to rev it. Thanks

2nd - 3rd isn't bad mainly just 1st - 2nd. other thing was that around september my shift linkage got all messed up and I brought it to a tranny place to get it checked out and they said a bushing inside the steering column was gone. so they replaced it and it ran fine until recently. i'll double check fluid just to make sure. Thanks
hey been busy with school and work and finally just got a chance to test drive my truck again. It still delays shifting from 1st to 2nd and when i floor it from a stand still it feels like the tires grab and release, grab and release. checked the fluid and it was around 1/2 qt low. any suggestions? Thanks
i'm pretty sure the setting is around 1/4in if i'm correct that is around the stock position. I set it @ that during the summer because it was a little off and it shifted fine after that. also could a feeling of "grab and release" be a slipping torque converter? Thanks
