Trans pan

I need a recommendation for a good transmission pan for a 93 CTD auto. I can't get my dad's pan to stop leaking and he's not the greatest about checking fluid levels.

Is the leak actually coming from the pan itself?

Maybe someone here may have installed an aftermarket deep pan, that may have the OEM one still around.

The pan is leaking. I recently replaced the fluid and filter, it has leaked since my dad bought the truck. I would like to install an aluminum pan.I've heard of the mag hytec pan's but don't want to spend $250 on a trans pan.

When it came to my upgrading my mess, I couldn't justify the expense of the Mag Hytech. Digging around in the Summitracing web-site, I found the BMM-10280 (B&M) to be the best price for what it was ~ an aluminum trans oil pan with an additional 4 qts capacity.

Check it out at http://store.summitracing.com/

Regardless, when it comes to installing the trans pan, don't super torque down the bolts as that only pinches the gasket material in two, insuring a leak. I can't remember the exact figure, but the proper torque is in the inch-pounds range.

Hope this helps.

I believe you can also pick up a Hayden fairly cheap. (less than a Mag mor than a B&M)
