tranny cooler
tranny cooler
are the B&M tranny coolers much better then our stock trucks tranny coolers? also is it better to mount under the bed with the electric fan? or leave it where it is
I think its alot better.. I have mine mounted under the drivers side of the bed, and have a switched electric fan on it. The tranny temp gauge is tapped into the line between the cooler "in" and the tranny, so it shows the temps going into the cooler. It makes a big diff when towing to be able to hit the switch and have it cool the fluid down, does it pretty quickly too...
a light weight splash shield keeps road gunk from blocking up the cooler fins...
when it gets warm again( april maybe??) Ill crawl under there and take some pics....

I dont know how the intercooler would effect your tranny temps...
I wouldnt remove teh stock cooler/heater if you dont have to....
But the B&M is a definitly worth-while upgrade if your tranny is getting warm or you tow much.

It should be in addition to the front tranny cooler, I think. I didn't go with a B&M but the underbed with fan Derale unit made THE difference for towing. Before temps would spike to 225-250*. Now it rides at 180* with an occasional romp to almost 200*.
Which ever brand you choose, make sure the lines are big enough or you'll make things worse.
