Please fill out your signature so we know more about your truck. Is it auto or manual transmission? 4x4 or RWD? Any mods? Do you have gauges?

Depends on how much you turn the pump up. If you leave the pump alone and just drop in the injectors EGT's will be reasonable.

Maybe start by upgrading your existing turbo to a 60mm compressor from GDS?

Yea as your first turbo upgrade i'd go with a 60mm compressor kit from Gilette Diesel. Stage 3 kit for H1C is what your looking for. Its just a compressor upgrade for your existing stock turbo, not the whole turbo itself. Takes an hour or two to install.

Your stock turbo has a 56mm compressor just so you get an idea what difference this upgrade will make.

Yeah you'll be fine with just tweaks.

Your best bet is after you upgrade your turbo take the full power screw a little at a time (I know it's nearly impossible to do ) until you reach a point were your happy with the power and the egt's.

Well at least get a pyro guage, if you don't have it. Then turn it up until you can't keep the egt's under control. There are lots of "free"(just takes time) power upgrades th the old VE.

I wouldn't waste my money on the compressor upgrade. I would turn the pump up a little bit, not enough for EGT's to get out of hand, and then leave it alone until you have a new turbo. Before you turn the pump up though, you NEED to have gauges. At least a pyro gauge.
