Todays fuel

Just a thought for you all. I went to the local Conneco station the other day & the pumps said something to the extent of a different diesel, that is supposed to lower emmision in the newer trucks. I am concerned what this is going to do w/ our 12-valves. I already had one guy tell me that his injector pump locked up because of it. Would like to run the high sulfer stuff, but we all know the fine issue. Is the anything I can add to my tank of fuel to help lubricate the pump?

I've been running ULSD since Oct. I am not real good at doing things right every time so I have been putting in Lucas Fuel treatment about half as often and I don't mearsure the amount. So far I have not had a problem with the fuel. It doesn't get a as good a fuel mileage as it did with the low sulphur but it doesn't stink as bad either. Keep a couple filters on hand and watch your lift pump pressure. It may loosen some dirt in the fuel system and cause the filter to get a little stuffy. I have even run it in my 1958 Ford 841D without problems. But Now I am running it on home heating oil and a burnt motor oil mix. That thing will run on perfume if need be.

I don't recal how long I have been using USLD but I have been using MMO and now I'm trying I think Diesel Kleen, I can't remember I don't put that many miles on my truck. Haven't had a problem yet

Lubriticity for the tight tolerances of the pump and injectors is what you want. There are three very good ones that come to mind. Stanadyne Performance formula, Power Service, or Marvel Mystery oil at every fill up. And they also help keep the fuel system clean and help the water to demulsify and collect to drop down in the water/fuel separator rather than running on thru critical components of the diesel.

I could be doing something wrong but I add two stroke oil with each filling. I only have 396k on this pump and injectors and it seems to still be working well. I have seen a drop in milage.
