This morning I woke up and drove down the the tire store to get my left front rim switched out. Ya know..the one with weights half way around on one side and half way round the other side. Slightly bent
After that I drove over to the auto supply and picked up a Wix BHAF element and stopped at the shop on the way home and installed my Old Smoky mount and the filter. Piece of cake. Sounds good too. I can slightly hear the turbo now
things get blurry here..like a dream haze...imaginary[sound of dream music]
I'm looking at the filter at housing and checking the connections. Everything looks good. I look under the truck and there is a metal looking cap laying there.

"Hmmm. Don't remember seeing that before. Must have dropped from the truck."
I look around and look behind the injection pump I see a screw with a nut around it. I try it on and it fits. "Must be loose or something", I think. I grab my trusty wrenches and screwdriver and decide this part must be loose. I think " I better make sure this screw is tight" so I screw that center part in 2 turns and lock the but. "Won't fall out now!"
[sound of dream music stops]
Ok..I made up that cap falling off version
I've had the gauges in for a week and know how the truck runs. Removed the tamper cap and put 2 turns on Full Power screw. I start the truck and the idle is 300 RPM higher now at 1100. So I remove what looks like a cap nut off the front end of the low idle adjuster and adjust the screw and the cruise cable to make it idle at 800 RPM in drive.
I ask the girlfriend if she wants to go grab something to eat and take a ride. I cruise out of the neighborhood at around 30. Pedal seems a little pepier. We get to the main road and I slightly roll the stop making a right turn, get it half straightened up on the road, and MASH it to the floor. Felt like somebody smashed into my truck as the trans kicked into low and the toolbox in the back slammed the tailgate. I look at the left side of the boost gauge and my brain stutters for a sec wondering where the needle is..."Hmmm not at 5-10 psi...WOW..it's over at 24 PSI
" is my brains response. I check the pyro and it's climbing and never passes at 1050-1100 and we continue to rip down the road till my nagging brain says"ummmm...that's 70 on the speedo there buddy"
My boost used to slowly climb to 5-7 psi in first and then to 14 max in second.
Now it flies up and it's max is 23-24.
I mashed it all over the place and the ET never went above 1100
All I can say is WOW. I can't believe the difference now. wow wow wow
I can't find the bite marks, but the bomb bug has sank it's teeth into my willing flesh

OOOOOH, you're in trouble now! Hang onto your wallet! When I got my truck I thought I would put around $800 in engine mods.
Once you feel the power you always want more. Now you can't stop until you're out of money.

New user, but could you please explain what was just described? Was the boost increased just by turning a screw? Or were there other adjustments as well?
Very curious to know more...

Den!!
You back that screw out two full turns and put that cap back on!! You have no right to be driving a older more classic style truck so quickly down the street! What will all the new trucks say when they catch up to you at the next light? Tis not right, not right at all
