Alot of the reviews I've read say they have better wet/dry weather on road and winter weather traction. Plus they're supposed to wear better as well. Any of you guys ever ran them? if i were going to recommend tires to anyone i would recommend the cooper stt tires. whichever the non mud terrain are. good tread; long treadlife. my friend got 50,000 miles out of his on a f350 powerjoke. never rotated them either....

 

Yeah where are you getting those michelins from? Ive never seen em' around here.Is there a web site where you can find em??

 

My mistake, I had the name of my own tires wrong . They are the goodyear wrangler RT II. So far they seem alright, except I need a steering stabilizer and a new steering shaft. I guess I'll see how many miles I get out of them. I got them real cheap anyway and tires for me are a write off. If the overall design of them works for me, I don't really care about how long they last because they're real cheap anyway.

 

its a local tire shop they get it from the army they are 2nd hand but when i got mine there was about 1/4 of thread gone so thats not too bad for 500 new they are about 1200 the good thing about these is not wide so not too much fuel mileage gone out the window i still get around 18 mpg over all and you dont need a lift but it did rub once when i hit a ditch on the woods

 

A mill surplus place in Waco, Texas sells them for $50 each last I checked for near new. 37x12.50x16.5 Wrangler M/T's for $90 each for near new. Like you said at least they are cheep. Good luck with them and have fun.

 

Just had a guy give me a set of Super Swamper 38x15.50x16 on Mick Thompson Classic II's 1/2-3/4 tred to use on my truck till he gets out of the USAF (3 more years) I guess I will buy the tires sence there wont be much if any tred left by then. Don't really like Super Swamper, don't last long but better than the stock tires and rims I had to put back on the other day. Looks like Big Foot when they put the small tires on to put it in the trailer . Only has a 3" body lift to clear the Allison 545 but will clear the 38's fine with stock fenders ( now cutting). Will look really good to . I'll try to get some picks when I get them on.

i run 33x12.5x16.5, and they will rub the rear of the drivers front fender during a turn or a good bump. they tire is full of some nasty slashes in the tread area. they do not hit anywhere on the passenger side though. (hmmmmm, sounds like something isnt straight somewhere, but thats a whole 'nother story).

I also have a set of those military hummer tires 36x12.5x16.5, and they bite the rear of both front fenders when turning, so bad so i had to take them off. they do bite and chew the ground like crazy, though, and they are LOUD on the highway, loud enough to drown out my non-existant exhaust.

My 33s would probably fit if my front end wasnt so sagged out, but my truck was owned by the town, and it had an 11ft fixed angle plow on the front on it for the ffirst 13 years of its life.

Now just as soon as i get that front end back up where it should be..........
