Are you maybe thinking the little bracket on the front of the timing cover that the throttle spring hooks on to?

Thats what I thought but it looks nothing like mine. Mine looped all the way arond and was wrapped around the wire, not prongs.

What year truck is that off of? Perhaps it was one of the many little changes made though the years.

Dont think so. Double check.

What are you needing to know? If I had something more than a camera phone Id try and get you some pics but for now I can try to describe it in a textly manner...

how exactly that sensor sit above the wheel its reading, theres two notches in that harmonic deal, does it matter if you line it up, and isnt there a certain amont of clearance that sensor is sposed to have from the crankshaft?

Yes. If you haven't noticed, the CPS (crank position sensor) is magnetic. It is positioned right above the harmonic balancer, right over those notches. Those notches in the balancer trigger a magnetic response, or lack there of, every time the balancer makes a rotation.
Know what I mean?

If I remember correctly, .050" clearance. But Id double check on that number.

I tried getting a pic with my camera phone but its to dark in my engine bay and to much stuff in the way to get a real good view of the CPS

Google turned up this pic...

No, fifty thousandths of an inch. 0.050". Measure with a brass or plastic feeler - or just fold a matchbook cover over once and call it close enough.
