Thinking of buying a 92 w250

The truck is an auto and im just wondering how the tranny is gonna like towing especially if i start turning the juice to her. any remarks are appreciated. oh yeah, towing weight will be around10,000-12,000 on average.

I would say put a tighter converter in it and a shift kit or a upgraded valve body and tow with it.

The stock tranny won't like towing with any more fuel added. A good converter, (Goerend is the only man I recommend) and a shift kit, and you'd be set.

A Non LoCk up tranny shouldn't cost a whole lot to rebuild back to stock. Right around 1K, plus around $650 for a nice Goerend converter.

As far as cost, before the economy went to crap, when I bought my 100% rust free, 2wd, regular cab, auto, dually, I paid 5K. He was asking 7K, and had three people coming to look at it, but since mt dad has known him for over 20 years, he gave me a price cut.

However, now that the economy is in the toilet, you can find a truck in as good of shape as mine, for less. I would have no problem paying 5K again for my truck.

It doesn't matter how many miles are on the tranny. Dodge put very loose converters in these trucks, supposedly to help save the drivetrain, as they didn't know what the Cummins would do, but who knows.
