Thinking about going back to stock 16" steel wheels
I bought my W250 in 2004 from the original owner. He had put aluminum wheels on it years before and no longer had the original steel wheels. I'm thinking about going back to the steel wheels. Now would be a good time to do it since I will need tires soon.
Are the factory 16" steel wheels interchangeable between the 2x4 and 4x4 models?

I like the stock steelies. Fords also fit if that makes the hunt easier.

Good to know about the Ford wheels! I've seen some of the rear caps and a few of the rings and maybe a couple of the front caps over the years.

Go with the Ford 16x7 wheels. Fits the caps and trim rings. 1" wider on the outside. Looks better, and holds up to a 285 tire.

My D250 with factory 16x6 on 235/85R16 front and Ford 16x7 with 285/75R16 rear:

And a nice IPA on the bumper!

I'm running ford wheels on my M880 but not sure of the width. No caps or rings, just 7.00x16 bias ply Grip Spurs.

Wow that's helpful. Seems like my stock wheel limit my tire selection. They may not run true..

I'll go to 255/85R16 on a 6" wheel. After that you really need the 7".

285's have a great weight rating at 3750#.

I found a couple of sets of the Ford wheels for pretty cheap prices. One listing claims they will not fit Powerstroke Fords, but another ad said his wheels WERE from a Powerstroke truck.

The engine doesn't dictate the wheel bolt pattern. 92-97 Fords (i.e. 8x6.5" wheels) include 94.5-97 powerstrokes.

They will be stamped ACCURIDE and 16x7
