Smile thinking about it?

I saw this truck for sale on the internet http://www.canadatrader.com/result/d...px?ID=27981085, i really liked this truck i thought to myself boy this is the truck for me. it's perfect for somebody like me because i am just a young man who dosen't have that much money. It's just something about this truck that makes it stand out from other first generation dodge diesels i have seen, the headache rack, the mud flaps that say cummins diesel power. my old man says that a truck like this is only good for farmers or ranchers hearding cattle across a field and that it would not be good for long distance driving or as a daily driver. It's a **** shame i can't buy this truck because it is all the way in alberta and i am here in manitoba. Ahh well maybe someday i might move to alberta and who knows maybe the good old truck might still be up for sale yea right i wish Anyways i was just wondering what would i have to look for before i buy this truck and if this truck had say 200,000 or 300,000km would that be too much mileage? Any mechanical problems with these types of trucks or anything i should look out before i purchase it.Any input would be greatly appericated thanks!

Link doesn't take me to the truck, just the Canadian AutoTrader site.

I've driven mine from San Antonio, Texas to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 34 hours (total time including sleep), and also from Philadelphia to Chicago, Illinois and back again - and I'll do the Chicago trip again this Thanksgiving. I also drive it to and from work every day.

You could buy it, then fly to Alberta and drive it back to Manitoba. That's how I got my truck home from San Antonio.

Don't sweat the mileage as long as the truck runs good. Most of us are pushing 200k miles from one end or the other, and many of us have trucks with more than 300k miles. Main thing to watch out for is rust. Get a solid truck that runs well and it will give good service regardless of the mileage.

There are a whole lot of long-distance haulers that would beg to differ his opinion.

I never gained a bit of ground until I quite listening to the "advice" of my immediate elders and their cohorts.

If you like and want the truck, buy it.
