things to check before buying a 1st gen

it's auto , 4x4 , and i am pretty sure it has had a camper in it , has a box liner in it , but i looked under the bed , never had a 5th wheel hitch, but it does have air bags on the rear , and a lil piece of pipe that comes out from the frame to the edge of the body panel , i have seen them on slide in campers.

So what is the list of things i can take a quick look at while i look this truck over? i know a little about the 1st gens, but not much , i know about the roof rotting out , and i could see the headliner has some water stains on it , at least i think that's what it was , so i am suspect of that.

Cowl cracking is a big problem on 4x4's. If you look down between the fender and the cowl you can see it, look for rust streaks from the cracks. Floor rot is common, too - due to the water leaks from cowl cracks and plugged cowl drains.

I just called , and it is a 92.

What cowl are you talking about Dave, i'm not sure i know what you mean.

He is asking 9500 CAN$ for it , with 257 000 km (roughly 160 000 miles +/-)
and it is going to need a boy job in a short while.

The cowl of a vehicle is the area above and behind the firewall but below and forward of the windshield. On the 1st gen Dodges the cowl is hidden by the cowl grill (where the wipers are) and the fenders.
