Wonder if this would work on my Park Avenue? It's shifting in and out of OD sporadically.

No, a gasser PCM uses the TPS input for more than just OD control.

does this only control the OD shifting? My truck has trouble shifting into OD and will not stay in it if I let off the pedal. It also has shifting problems in lower gears as well. For example, ill be cruising in 3rd and as soon as i let off the pedal itll downshift. Will the POT help with this shifting problem as well?

No, the TPS only controls the OD shift. Sounds like you have a TV cable adjustment issue there.

Has anyone experienced any troubles or any experience with the transmission temperature sensor? As i have come to understand, that many of these OD shifting problems may be caused by the TTS which measures cold ambiant air tempurature as well as overheating transmission temps. Both low and high temps prevent the trans from shifting into OD. I've been told by a transmission shop, that by us using a potentiometer as the tps, we're defeating the TTS circuit (which may be the root cause of the messed up OD shift patterns.)

The trans temp switch is just a high limit switch (270 degrees!), you can jumper it out if it goes bad.

The coolant temp sensor could be a problem, coolant temp has to be over 60 degrees for the PCM to allow the OD shift.

I have ordered a pot kit to try. As far as TPS is concerned, I have not bought one in several years. I bought one from O reillys auto parts and the have replaced it three times under their lifetime warranty.
