Stock Wheels
I want to update my stock wheels off of my '89 d250 4x4 diesel to stock wheels off of a '97 2500 4x4....both 8 lugs....are they all the same and will the bolt patterns line right up??????
That should be a direct bolt up. The Dodge and Ford rims have been a direct bolt up for years. somewhere around 2000 Ford went to a "piloted hub" this means instead of the lugnuts being tapered to center the rim, the hub and rim are nearly the same size and the lug nuts are flat. the hubs now center the rim.
I would say try one on the front. if it works than run them.
I have a set of 94 Dodge rims on my 79 Ford.

Someone had done that on my 92 before I bought it and I could not get them to center out at all and balance right at all. Ended up buying six new stock wheels at $102 a piece. The older trucks centered up on the convex and concave surfaces on the wheels or the "cup and cone" I call them. The lug nuts are also machined out to go over the convex surface on four locations of each wheel.
You could try it and see how it works but be aware of the wobble.
Link is a pic of the new wheels.

Here is the thread I started on the wheel bounce.
