Not very well, but well enough to support 350 whp.

I sold my ASA modifieds intake and went back to mine recently, lost a little boost and picked up a little EGT, but oh so quiet.

I'm tossing around the idea of putting the stock one back in.

I wish I could find the post, but KTA over on another 1st gen site stated that there was only like a 2 whp difference between a ASA intake and a stock intake when he was on the dyno. Perhaps you get better mileage and lower EGT's with a better intake.

Cummins people told me once that setup was the biggest handicap the dodge setup has. They told me to drill big holes on the box. Id like to find a small air scoop I could mount on the right fender to force air in.

hey-Hey!!!,
Just to make a few compairsons, the air filter area on the stock replacement K&N is more than double the area of the element in a 3.0L 24V Sable that makes 200 hp normally aspirated...so I am dismissing the bhaf for my power levels. Now for the intake area of the box itself...that I think is pretty small and I suspect it depends on if the little snout is in place or not.

I'd rather not have the filter element exposed to what's effectively geen water while driving; a bit of spray won't hurt but I don't want a potentially almost frozen stream of slush/crud finding its way to there. Holes seem to be a good idea.
cheers,
Douglas

Have a look at Jim Lane's scoop. He got this from Banks Engineering.

I think there's a write up on it somewhere but my search result was HUGE so I gave up.
