step me through vb replacement
Guys,
I'm having a bit of problems in the transmission behavior. I think symptoms are most likely a failed accumulator piston and spring. Shifting got really light 3-4 and then within a week or so, it starts binding in gears.
Got to remove the vb to get at the accumulator.
I ordered a sonnax part for the piston. Is the stiffer sonnax spring needed or can i use the factory spring?
Is there o-rings or a gasket sealing the vb to tranmission??
Help!
Michael

The valve body does not have any O-rings, or seals. It is just bolted to the case.
You will need to remove the gear selector lever, and kick down lever from the shaft first, remove the neutral/reverse light sensor.
Then once the fluid is drained remove the filter.
Then there should be about 10 - 7/16" bolts that you remove to loosen the valve body.
Pull the valve body down, slipping the gear selector shaft down past the seal and out. Probably want to replace this seal.
The park brake rod will still be hooked up...very difficult to remove the valve body, and the park rod without the tailshaft being off. But you can just unclip the park brake rod from the valve body.
That should get things out of your way.
