steering box woes

in my neverending quest to make this truck perfect its now time for me to address my steering. i have a clunk when i make a sharp turn to the right and id like to take care of it before it comes back to bite me in the you know what. onemoparnut and i checked it over a while ago and decided that the inner nut and bolt on the frame is loose. is there a way to tighten it? i havent personally checked it out yet, i plan to tomorrow. also planning on a borgeson shaft within the next paycheck or two. and an alignment. any suggestions or input? thanks a bunch.

There's three bolts holding the bracket to the frame and 4 bolts hold the box to the bracket. If the bolts aren't tight then it could cause some slop. Have someone turn the steering wheel while you watch the box closely. If the box moves any then chances are one of those bolts are loose. You have to take the box practically off to get to the four on the bracket. If you take them off or they are loose you need to locktite them as well.

I have had constant probs with mine, you will have to take the whole box loose from the frame in order to tighten those bolts. You might consider replacing the bolts and adding lock washers. Mine sheared the bolt head off, so if you don't want to do it twice just go ahead and replace the bolts. Also I seen a post on here about a cross-ovrr conversion - i think I am going to do one of those kits soon.

Not too hard. If your not replacing the box then you don't have to remove the pittment arm off the box. 3 bolts to take box off frame and then the shaft and pop the box of the draglink and the box is off to get to the other 4 bolts to tighten or replace. Probably take 45 min to and hour.

Your steering gearbox mount bracket that is no longer available from dodge could be cracked. Your frame could also be cracked.

In my opinion its the best route.
I put it on my truck and it steers REAL nice.

Or you can also get a http://www.dodgeconnection.com/catal...66/4541374.htm and find a used plate which will brake again.

The part above can also be used in the aid of RRSGB frame support. I put that in my truck also.
