Single stack, dual stacks, hood stack... Do they add performance or are they just more for looks?

Just wondering...

They don't add anymore performance than a straight pipe. KTA ran an underbed exhaust, I believe he also had a muffler.

i know when i added mine i deleted the mufler, wich most of us do . I think it makes the rurbo spool faster. And they sher help keep the rear 1/4 clean.

I was thinking about a hood stack, but I dont want to cut a hole in my hood, it's perfect. It would be awesome to have fire coming out of it when hard on the throttle though.

hood stacks are cool on a sled puller but on a DD its a little bit too far. My buddy has one on his dodge and the cab always reaks like smoke and the noise is too much as well. I am happy with my single mitre cut.

On a SRW truck, I think only single stacks look good. I think only a dually can run dual stacks and look good, but most I see with dual stacks don't look that good. I think a Cummins was meant for a single stack.

Yeah, noise is another concern. I don't see how a hood stack could be quiet.

I'll probably just stick with my 3.5" down pipe to 4" exhaust

probably a wise choice. i had 4 inch stright pipe on mine before the stack and it sounded great and the noise wasn't bad at all inside the cab.

Oh no they don't. When it rains there are black streaks all over the bed of my truck! It comes off easy though. just wipes off with a rag.

schamram hit it on the head. stacks do suck especially mitre cuts when it comes to soot. mine belches black soot water all over my truck after a decent rain
