Stacks?

Well im thinking about putting stacks on the truck. However what I want is to have the stacks come up in the corners of the bed so that I can fit a full sheet of plywood and still close the tailgate. So I cant split the pipe in the bed it will have to be done under it. Upon inspection there seems to be enough room to fit a 4" pipe over the fuel tank and then over top of the frame rail without hitting the bed. The biggest problem I see is having to modify the cross brace right above the drive shaft to get the pipe up there on top of it. So what do you guys think? Has anyone done this before? I know the easiest way is to just do one stack but I like the looks of 2 better. Looking for some input and suggestions.

Thanks

My Y pipe is under the truck.

I built it out of miter-cut four-inch square tubing.

The square is much easier to miter and weld, and carries quite a bit more CFM than the same size round.

bearkiller how did you run yours after the Y ?

I have seen them split under the bed but the pipes come up on the inside of the frame rails. I want to have them come up on the outside of the frame rails. I also dont want to run the pipe under the frame rail to get there. I think it will look dumb that way.

Same here, I looked at one out in PA by me that the guy split under the bed. Did for the same reason too. His pipe snuck under the drive shaft right by the transfer case and he had 4"-5" adaptors welded in the corners of the bed to hold his 5" stacks.

Mine is under the drive-shaft, under the frame-rails, and my stacks are on the outside of the truck-I have a flat=no sheet-metal bed.

It isn't as noticeable, looking at the truck, as it sounds.

The exhaust is no closer to the ground than several other things under there.

I wish I knew how to do pictures.
