speedo adustment

due to the excessive increase in police action in my area i am now kinda concerned about my speedo being way off. i have a 93 auto 3,55 gears and 37s goodyears. the speedo was slightly off b4 the tires but now its way outta wack. my major deal is that it dosnt seem to be consistant(i cant gps the speeds and just guess) can i just buy a gear from a truck with the 3.07 gears or something along those lines?

Typically you simpy just replace the small VSS gears within the transmission/transfer case to adjust the ratio up or down.

Someone makes an electronic adapter for this purpose. Check the archives. I borrowed a GPS and wrote down the Speedo reading at the correct speed. Just my 2 cents, Mike.

The company in the above link (transmission Center) sells adaptors that fit between the drive out of the transmission or transfer case and the speed sensor. Since you have 37's I'm guessing transfer case. You may have an adapter already there. You must determine the percentage of error and adapt accordingly.

Go to the dealer and give him your gear number and your tire size and he can provide you with the proper VSS to plug and play. My last one was about 60 bucks.
