Source for a Bed Floor Patch Panel????

Anyone know of a source for patch panels for my "89? It's a good bed except where the PO welded in the plate for the gooseneck. It's rusting all around the welds. The Beast is going in for paint late this month and I'd really like to get it fixed. Thanks for any and all help.

Cut out patch panel from an old rusty bed, weld in, grind down, prime, paint.
That would be how I would attack that problem.
