Sounds different...
Sounds different...
After spending some time around 3 different trucks (89,91,93 all 4x4 automatics)
I realize mine sounds a good bit different. Not the exhaust, but the combustion rattle. Mine is louder inside, or outside the truck.More metallic sounding. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't sound "bad", I like it. But it's different, and ignorance breeds paranoia. The others sound like mine would if wrapped in a blanket (if you can picture that). Can timing or some other "adjustment" cause this?

Thats the way it should be. On IC trucks, the KSB is advancing the timing when it has power. On the non-IC trucks, the KSB advances timing with a wax motor; it starts advanced, then when the KSB gets power, it retards the timing back again.

Check to see that your KSB solenoid is getting power when the engine is warm.
