Friday night I was at the car wash (I did not wash the motor) I left and gave it about 1/2 throttle the turbo sounded normal until it spooled up. Now instead of a the normal turbo noise where it goes from a low pitch to a high pitch whistle its now a low pitch whistle and then turns into almost a whine. We checked for play in the shaft and everything is normal, one of the fins looks like it has a crack or a fracture on it but when you run your finger nail across it you can not feel anything.

The truck still runs normal and pulls good.

Any help or idea would be appreciated.

Sounds like you either have a small hole in your intercooler hoses, or one has started to slip.

I'd say since it started right after washing, that one got slightly wet and started to slip off.

Check position and tightness of the clamps.
