I never had to mess with any of the settings inside the trans.

These transmissions must have proper linkage travel to shift right & not burn themselves up.
They use the TV cable to regulate throttle pressure and line pressure!!

Install the throttle ball in the inner hole on the injector pump arm.
Back out the high Idle screw half way.
Shim or bend the pedal inside so the throttle reaches full travel when floored.
This gives proper linkage travel to match the trans linkage.

Now: have a friend hold the pedal to the floor while you set the TV cable to full travel.
Both the throttle & TV should reach full travel at the same time.
This is how the old gassers were set up.
This will give proper travel to the linkage with the 3200 spring for properly synced shifting.

The trans will shift smooth & slow just off idle & will actually shift at around 2800 - 3000 wide open if i remember right. (I haven't driven the truck in a while)

Also, my gasser TPS mod works well with this setup since the gasser TPS has more travel than the Cummins one & does not readjust itself every time you floor the throttle.
I have found the truck will actually drop out of overdrive when floored in the 60 mph range set up this way.

I've already done all that a long time ago and it seemed to help with more travel and more top end but not necesarily with my tranny. Last night I was messin around and just got two zip ties, put them together and then looped them though the TV cable slot and then through the throttle linkage bracket and tightened them so it was holding my tv cable tighter, and then the throttle will hit it and push it even farther so it still works. My TV cable is at the tightest it will go so i did this and it seemed to really help, it definately shifts later and it seems to shift stronger (from the increased line pressure with the tv cable tighter) Pretty easy simple fix for now that worked for me. and if i want it to shift later I just tighten the zip tie some more, and then cut them off and start over if i want it different.

i had mine set up this way when my 47rh blew up. This is how Goerend said to set it up and they said it will shift right. Both my throttle and T.V. cables were hitting full travel at the same time and the thing would still shift into third by 16mph under heavy throttle.

You use a longer arm to get more travel, Rampage came at it from the other direction, less input motion or travel which has the same result. You most definitely do not want to use gasser governor weights, under any kind of throttle pressure input you would never get an upshift. If you wanted to raise the rpm a little you can whittle on the outer and inner governor weights, I'm sure someone like rick allison has tables to show how many grams they should weigh for a specific shift point. The outer weight gets cut in the od center so it winds up looking like a spool, the inner is counter bored for lightening. Factory even used aluminum governor weights for certain high winding apps.
should all the lengths be the same in all 90-93 trucks? Could this be the reason why some trucks shift fine with a 3200gov spring and the linkages switched and others do not? I know the kickdown arm was shorter on my 47rh core perhaps i will cut this on and make it longer. Any suggestions on how much longer?

Ok so let me try and understand this. That is a limiter setup?? It holds the cable at a certain tension?position?
thanks for the pictures!

Yes, and the slot lets it go on back when needed, and the allthread and bracket lets you fine tune it to where you want it, not shure it's the best way but it works for me.

thanks for the pictures. Now i just have to find a slotted piece like that.

Are you able to achieve WOT and reach full T.V. cable travel at the same time with it setup like that?
