second gen dash and guage cluster?
second gen dash and guage cluster?
so i have only seen it once were some one put in a second gen dash but i was wondering if any one has ever used the factory second gen gauge cluster along with it? would it be hard to make it work?
Seriously, why would you replace a part that's proven itself for decades for a part that is proven to catastrophically fail in no time flat?
"Hard" is a relative concept, anyway. I'm really, really not trying to sound like a jerk, but to be blunt, the fact that you have to ask gives me reason to believe that it's absolutely going to give you a headache.

I would be most concerned about physical dimensions. Have never measured, but at first glance, a second gen cab looks a lot wider than a first gen. You may have to keep the doors open all the time to make that dash fit. Also, am not sure if the contour of the front edge of the dash would fit the front of the first gen cab without major modification. I guess some people are capable of that sort of project. It would be really cool if it would fit in there and look natural. The cluster, to me, would be the least amount of trouble, except for the speedometer which is probably cable-driven on your 90. On second thought, you should be able to mount a speed sensor on your t-case in place of the cable drive.
