Rusty Roof on a 93 CTD farm truck

This is an old working truck,I need to stop the cab rust as easy as possible.
Is the POR 15 a better choice than Eastwood? I have thought about bedliner on the roof as well.Bed liner is working well instead of the moldy carpet on the floor.I figure to get to bare metal and then use ? Thanks for the help.

No holes just surface rust.Don't use salt here in winter but the sun makes up for it.

It starts in the rain gutter.
You could take a 4 inch grinder and put a very aggressive wire wheel on it and clean out the rain gutter with that and then paint with epoxy.
Then caulk rain gutter with 3M5200.

But it is a work truck so what is wrong with some Rust oleum and a smooth roller.

The bad part is, the rust you see is only the tip of the iceberg. The rust starts from the inside. The roof is made up of 4 layers of untreated steel on the inside. Moisture forms internally and rusts the roof from the insde out.

Depending on what state you live in will also play a part on the life of bare metal in your truck.

So would pulling the head liner and using a rust converter inside and paint outside be the best plan?

when he says inside the metal he literary means the inside of the steel (like the organs inside your body), not the other side... sometimes you can get lucky by brushing the rust off but other times the only fix is to replace the rusted area. i would brush it off, clean it, and paint it hoping for the best
