Rubber body mounts

to use the Jeep bushings you must in large the frame holes to 1.5” . I clamped a 2x4 and found the center. Then used a hole saw. The 2x4 gives something for the pilot to hold true. Front mounts don’t need a spacer. The rear neads a 1/2” spacer. The bottom of the mounts have washers made into them they nead to be drilled out to 5/8. I put them in my vice. The front used 5/8x5” bolts rear used 5/8x5 1/2” bolts I used grade 8 bushings are crown automotive part number 55176180k body mount kit for jeep tj. I got mine from amazon for 107.52$

my truck has allot of modifications so spacer may be little different then mine. I have a 1 1/4” body lift to clear the transmission all the measurements are without body lift

i am am working on the radiator support bushings now soon as I get them worked out I’ll add the result the bushing kit does have enough to do the grill Mount two

Thank you sir...

Question though... your measurements are without the body lift... so the 5" bolts on front and 5-1/2" bolts on rear of cab will work for stock cab height??

Do you suppose any difference for a cab with auto tranny that is 4x4?

Glad you asked that with out the body lift I’d say 4” and 4 1/2” bolts

I think all cab mounts are the same between auto and Manual

The 1st gen cab mounts are all the same.
Cabtruck is adding the body lift only because he is adding a 2nd gen 6 speed transmission which is a HUGE transmission. Otherwise the transmission will have contact with the lower edge of the firewall where it meets the transmission tunnel from what I have heard.

I do The same thing only i use 1/8"X? steel strap or plate and small welding vise-grips. I center punch for the pilot hole and use a carbide scribe in a compass to scribe a circle just smaller than the hole that needs to be enlarged for quick alignment. Then drill the pilot hole.
If the hole saw will wipe out the scribed "alignment" line small holes could be drilled at 12,3,6and9 o'clock. should be good for all 4 holes.

That’s a good idea the other way I thought about was to turn a center on the lathe 1/4” for the hole saw then bigger to fit the stock hole

I once used a small hole saw to cut a piece to use as a center to enlarge a hole in a door for a different lock set. I still have that piece in my odd tools drawer.
