AHH it seems like i remember learning this somewhere years ago...about that reverse cut gears....now i understand thanks!.....ok gentlemen looks like 3.73 is what im going to look for i found a 3.73 14bolt yesterday evening so i got my rear gears....now looking to the front.....i may get out of this cheaper that i expected! thanks for all the help guys!

 

This looks like a swinging deal with the bearings, shims ect. I paid that much for a master install kit. Not my auction, nor do I know the seller....

that is cheap....sets it fits rear axles only thought but i thought we just established that the gears are the same? and it says it fits chevy K30 and V30 which means it has to be for a front end because chevy didnt offer a dana60 rear....

 

It will NOT fit a Ford front, but I *think* it will fit a chevy or dodge front. When I did my swap I was told by all of the gear sellers that a dodge front set would not work in my rear axle. A 4X4 gear head friend of mine told me they would. I tried them, they fit and have been flawless for 30,000 miles.

 

I am thinking the "rear only" deal has to do with an ABS tone ring? Just an idea.

 

even though thats a heck of a deal, since im going with 3.73's i'm just going to look for used gears to save the money...if i have to ill buy new
