You'll need an he351 flanged 4" downpipe but it's otherwise very easy to adapt an he351cw or easier yet to put an he341 to work.

341 came on the 03-04 trucks and the 351cw came on the 04.5-07 trucks.

Power potential between those 2 turbos has a fair gap between them. The he341 will be a lot faster spool but not much more air. And the he351 can support 400hp on the top side of power output

Would you Guys recommend finding a newer turbo or going for broke with an aftermarket one?

I'm considering the same thing as you and my budget tells me that the 341 or 351 will work just nice and keep things reliable. Good luck in your search.

I liked my HE351CW. It spooled like lightning and cooled decent.

for the manual trans, hands down to the quick spoolers, we loose boost between every shift, ive run the 12cm hx35, it was great all around, the he351cw, bigger is better, both can be had for reasonable, the hx35 12cm ungated will bolt on without any mods.

Got my '02 HX35 for free. Love the quick spool. Used it with the wastegate, and added Diamond Eye 4" exhaust at the same time. Thread here

Towed about 8000# yesterday and it was fine.
