Trip Computer Retrofit
I was wondering if anyone has added the trip computer to their truck, if so what wiring harnesses were added. I know a lot of the wiring is in the truck, just not sure of how to go about this, or if it is worth it. i would like one in my '99. (Another little gadget :D).

It is my understanding that the wiring harness is NOT in the overhead. I think it is one of those things that, if you did not get it for the minimal cost when the truck was built, you will not want to pay the cost to add it now. Wrecking Yards should now be getting some truck now. I have wanted to add one also. SNOKING

HAS ANYONE CHECKED TO SEE WHAT IT WOULD ACTUALLY TAKE TO HOOK ONE UP. MOST OF THE ELECTRONIC COMPASS'S AND THERM. ARE SELFCONTAINED, THEY JUST NEED POWER. I'M WOULD IMAGINE THE MILEAGE WOULD NEED TO CONNECT TO THE ECM???

The main thing to remember about the MPG display is that as soon as you do any BOMBing, it will no longer display an accurate MPG, so then it's just about useless.
