I wouldn't run anything bigger than the 12cm on a stick truck with stock I/C injectors. You don't even need the wastegate. With mods like mine you can use almost all the power for towing with the pump turned up and the wastegate bolted shut.

how much difference does the 16 make. im making 32-34 psi with the stock 21 housing right now. If that will bump me up to 40 psi I won't bother with the HE 351 since thats all i want to make.

Don't make turbo decisions based on boost levels.

An HE351 may be alot more efficient (giving you more and/or cooler air) at a given boost level when compared to the H1C.

Boost is just pressure... Its cool dense air you want and a nice gust of it... a 40 PSI H1C doesnt mean its being efficient at that boost level, it could just be blowing in hot air at 40 PSI [dunno]

I hear it's (stock H1C compressor) out of its map past 30 psi.

It's strange to me that the Dodge TD community makes almost no use of compressor maps. Holset maps seem hard to get ahold of.

Crap, it's not here yet. Well.

I was wondering about something, regarding low-end power The 16 sq cm spools much more quickly compared to the 21, but doesn't really add much power overall, then ?

If it helps with the low-end, then it puts out more power in first second and third, right ? As it is, third seems to be revving way high by about 35-40 mph. If I shift into fourth, it seems to be lugging too low and will make a couple groaning noises below 40mph. Apparently the Getrag does not like being lugged around between 35 and 40 in fourth.

As I have to get around my neighborhood between 30 and 40 mph much of the time...narrow old streets...

Should the 16 sq cm allow it to put out more power in third without revving as high ?

Or am I way off track with that ?

You will not see any difference in RPM's at any given MPH, but what you will see is more low end grunt in 4th so it may or may not make those groaning noises. What you should do when you get your housing or ASAP is get the "366" spring for the pump. That will let the motor rev a little higher so you could cruise town in 3rd most of the time.

So who has the best deal on this spring ? Cheapest I've seen is PDR for $19 plus shipping.

Is this a common industrial spring that is available somewhere for less than $30 including shipping, and if so is there a part number for that ?

Or is it some special spring custom made for the VE Pump ?

Cool, I live right down the street near Lombard...thus, "Jubitz" as my location. That truck stop has good chicken fried steak.
