$90.00 every two years. It is the RV that will get you in Oregon though. $195.00 every two years for my camp trailer. This post got me thinking about the scariest part of my upcoming conversion. Putting a CTD in a 85 crew cab, how does all the title stuff work? I think I fill out the ASSEMBLED, RECONSTRUCTED OR REPLICA VEHICLE CERTIFICATION with my title request. http://www.odot.state.or.us/forms/dmv/6511.pdf Does that form look like it will get me there?

In Oregon an RV must be kept registered at all times and yes it's not cheap.

My title reads "Reconstructed Totaled" I'm not sure how it would work for yours. I've done engine swaps and always stayed with the original title with no problem. You will be going from a gasser to a Diesel so as below your GVWR is important.

Thiss - I would check into that crew cab conversion - it's the year and the GVWR that controls DEQ tests. If your "new" truck has a GVWR of over 8500 lbs - no problem.

Where in OR do live?

I am in DEQ free Polk county. The crew has a GVWR of 85000-10000 according to a vin check. I also want to weld a long bed frame to the crew, how would that change titling?

my 2010 6.7 tags are going to run me $850 a year. It drops each year until it hits a bottom price. Not sure how much that will be. I think the post above from Arizona where he paid $19 is incorrect. I think the min that can be paid for any veh is $35.00 However maybe there is something I don't know. My 2004 i just got rid of was costing me $265.00 a year.

The government always seems to bail themselves out yet they are over $35000.00 a person in debt. Each time they raise taxes on us they again need another bailout a few years later.

There was a guy here that used to not pay his tags because they were costing him over $2500 a year. A ticket for no current registration here was $465 bucks. So he told me that he can afford to get a few tickets each year and still be way ahead. He was driving a very nice car. So the crazy government thinks we all should pay these high registration fees.

We are 1/2 slaves in this country. Be a voice!!!

I would keep all records on both the donor truck and the crew cab so that you can prove you are the owner of all parts that went into the final product. With the 8500 - 10000 rating if DEQ ever comes your way you should be home free regarding testing.

Rebal, my reg actually went down $8 this year, I wonder if they just haven't caught up with me yet! Over $400 for a twenty year old truck is outrageous. Have you called DMV?

Or, maybe use a friends address in another state. IDK how that will work with your insurance. Years ago in Truckee I heard of people having problem with CHP nailing them for having Nevada plates while living and working in Truckee. CHP also used to nail people who lived in Nev. and worked in CA for not having CA plates too! I think they changed that law. Darned Revenuers!

Registration in Az goes by GVW and year of Truck. My 92 and 93 one tons
( GVW 12,000 ) are about 60 dollars a year. When they were new the were over 400. My 04 one ton started out at 650 when new but last year was down to 275... Insurance is another thing compleatly , the wife and I pay approx. 2500 a year for 4 trucks.
