Recycling 1st gen parts

You guys ever use your old dodge parts for something else ?

Being in the mid 90's today, I thought I'd do something to keep me busy, as my ball and chain was home for the holiday, and I had nothing to do (can't go to the girlfriends house when the wife is around)

Anyway,

I got tired of hearing the clacking / banging in my rear suspension due to the overload spring setup that came from the factory in this truck.... so I chopped them out. 10 minutes with a cut off wheel and they were gone... and so was that god awful slamming that overload springs make when you hit a bump... here's what they looked like when I got done chopping.

So... now what do I do with the scrap ? Throw it out ? Na ! Let's make something... So I had an extra pipe around, cut the two ends to give them a sharpened edge, and broke out the welder... Now I got a 1st gen axe to crack a few skulls with... or a few veggies to pull out of the garden and the end of the season....

Since I was sweating it out anyway, I figured I'd "customize" my new axe to make it look like mine.... I just can't figure out how that shilling got stuck to the end of it...

Either way, Yukon Cornelius called me this afternoon, and said I was treading on his Bumbles Pick that he patented back in the 1960's ...

Screw him ! I like my new tool and I'm gonna use it. Maybe I'll even sell it..

Hey,
That is pretty neat, you could use a leaf spring to make a crossbow, it would be quite powerful, might even shoot a harpoon, or make a catapult.

if you lived here you could make blades and mount them under your frame and have them extend to keep people from getting to close or cutting you off.

Good welding ? Really ?

I know you're pulling my chain, now.. I just kept slathering it on as I didn't want to lose the head of the pick.

I'll be glad to come out and show you how to screw up a weld... no problem..

I think he meant the top side weld, not the underside buildup weld.

I was just comparing it to my welding, which makes everyone's welding pretty good. ...Mark
