Reasonably price torque converter source

Hi everyone!
I am looking for a reliable source for lock up converters for my 91 W250 and my 92 D250. They both have stock 5.9l Cummins engines and A518 transmissions. I have rebuilt one and am going to do the 2nd one soon. Can anyone point me to a good source for a rebuilt converter? I don't have much money in my budget and I don't need anything radical. Stock is fine for what I do with my trucks.

Thanks!

what is your price range?

Good converters can be had for like $550. reasonable ones for cheaper if I'm not mistaken.

Price range is as low as possible, of course. Haha. Both of my trucks have around 225,000 on them and the transmissions are being opened up for the first time so whatever will get me another 150,000 miles will be fine. The sheetmetal is getting kind of bad at this point so I don't see a long future for either of them. Maybe 3 to 5 years.

If you have the stock trans, you don't have a lockup convertor. Lockup started in 1994 on the diesels.

A local transmission parts shop built me one for $280. 3rd try they got it right. Sure POed the shop that was doing the transmission overhaul because they had to pull the transmission 3 times at their expense.

I have a TCI convertor in one of my trucks. When the pump settings were close to stock it worked well. After the injector pump was turned up, it raised the stall a little much for me, but it is still better than stock by a long ways.

Goerend, Hughes are other options to look into.

I know goerend makes a $550 one that is really decent.

Again others have mentioned possibles places to look in to as well.

ATS makes converters but I don't know prices. Suncoast makes a very good product but they are expensive.

Reasonably priced seems to be much higher than when I bought mine. I got my TCI for $325 or so. Now the same convertor is over $525.
