Rear Main Seal Installation

Hey everyone, I'm almost done going through and replacing all the seals in my engine and I have come to the rear main. How hard of a job is this, and are there any detailed instructions on the net for how to do this?

its not hard. you have to clean it really well and keep it dry. there is a write up on it here: https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...d.php?t=202854

I hope that price included a transmission pull and install...

Changing the seal is only 10 minutes, once you get the transmission out of the way. I just punch a small hole in the body of the seal (being careful not to damage the crankshaft or seal retainer.) Then thread in a #6 sheet metal screw, and lever out the seal with side cutters.

Clean the area with brake clean, and tap in the new seal with the included install tool.
You're done.

I think I got my answer, but just to verify... This can easily be done with engine in place... just drop tranny and fly wheel and go to work... right?
