Rear diff Chatter
I had the exact same symptoms in a 92 way back when. I did the rear brakes, and noticed the diff fluid was burnt smelling, so I changed it and took a trip to MN (from CO). Seal started leaking, and within 2500mi, I had a spool on the back- I could NOT go around a corner, even on interstate, without it popping. I put new clutches in, along with a double dose of Mopr friction modifier, and all was well.
My mom now owns this truck, and it had grabbed around hard corners for a while. I sneaked some synthetic oil in there, along with the 2x friction modifier, and the grabbing stopped. Now if we can just find a place to stop the trnasmission chatter......
Try a full change with some friction modifier. Go for the good oil and modifier- dont get the Trans-X junk from AutoZone, et al.

If you want to run it for a while and do not need the limited slip you can try draining and refilling with amsoil or another slippery synthetic. As long as it's not howling on compression or load it is just worn clutches causing the chattering. If it's making any noise other than chatter in turns the bearings are on their way out as well and you will need to rebuild it soon. Good Luck

Ours will continue to move the truck even after the clutches are gone - it just acts like an open diff and there is a lot of slack.
