Rear brakes

I m going to do a rear brake job on my 1992 d350 friday.What size is the large nut that needs to come off to remove the drum.thanks

2 1/2 rounded axle nut. can be bought for about $20 at the local parts house

you know that's interesting.... the 2-1/2 from the parts store didn't fit easily... thought i would have to tap it on... just assumed it was because it was new. a buddy of mine has a shop and i was trying to avoid borrowing his, but decided to. his was labeled 2-1/2 (from snap-on) and worked perfectly.... when i measured the nut if actually looked just a hair over 2-1/2 but i couldn't find a 2-9/16 axle nut anywhere.

Get the 2-6/16" from Lislie tools. Its about $22 and uses a 1/2" sqaure drive. The ones from Napa/Matco (they are the same) use a 3/4' drive So you have to spend $32 for the soket and $12 for the 3/4" to 1/2" adapter

Got mine from Federated Auto Parts

Did you mean to say 2-5/16 or 2-7/16 or 2-9/16? 2-6/16 = 2-3/8.
