Ok, I'm just wondering can the pump still push fuel to the injectors even if the shut off selinod is NOT hooked up? And is there anyway to "hot wire" the selinod to stay open?

i doubt the pump could run with the solenoid disconnected. 12 volts to the solenoid holds the plunger open for fuel to pass by. and the only way i could think of to hold the solenoid open is to wire it straight to the battery or some other constant 12v source. you'd probably have to rig up a cable shutoff though unless you put a switch between the battery and the solenoid if you "hot wire" it.

Why?
You could remove the plunger and shut the pump down manually but there would be no way to secure the vehicle from unauthorized starting.

I've had to "hotwire" my solenoid directly to the battery + terminal to get the truck off the road and it works fine except that you have to pop the hood and un-"hotwire" it to shut it off. On a more permanent basis, the plunger under the solenoid can be removed and a manual pull cable installed to allow it to be operated like an older piece of heavy equipment - push the cable in to run; pull it out to shut it off. Also, some turned-up pumps have overpowered or torn the rubber plunger forcing their owners to install the pull cable.

What are you trying to accomplish?
