Ran the 1/8th finaly. Not totaly bad news...WATCH THE VID!!!!

I went to HMP 1/8 mile track last night to run the truck for the first time. I was running on crappy street tires with 20psi in them and couldnt get traction. It was in the upper 90's and humid. Only got 2 runs in too, the track was overly crowded.

1st run was 10.27@82mph with a 2.5 60'. I was easy on it off the line and left at idle. Didnt go much past 1/2 throttle till at the top of 2nd gear. Then shifted to 3rd and spun bad and started fish tailing trying to keep it straight till half track and had to let out. Once in 4th gear I finaly went WOT and held it.

2nd run was 10.26@86mph with a 2.47 60'. This run I turned the KSB on and it definatly made a hp difference. Launched with 5psi and feathered the throttle just enough to not spin too bad. Went into 3rd gear and was easy getting into the throttle but once I got over 75% throttle it spun some. So I went into 4th early so I could get on it WOT and it pulled hard and was gaining speed like crazy.

Next I need to finish my trailer so I can haul it to the track and carry tools and get some slicks. I'm sure once I get slicks on it and can really lay into it I'll break something. LOL

I have videos of both runs, the turbo was LOUD. You can hear it over the exhaust and the trucks in the other lane. All you hear is a Jet. LOL Belching smoke 30+ feet in the air during burnouts looks cool too. haha. I'm going to try to figure this camera out so I can load the videos cuz I know y'all want to see them.

BTW, I know ny times were slow but the MPH is more what I was after. With 86mph trap in the mid 90's I know without a doubt I've got the power to run in the 12's in the 1/4. And thats my ultimate goal.

Oh, and I set the boost back to just under 45psi. Seems to be the lowest EGT which I guess is the best power.

sounds like you had some good runs, and once you get it to hook you should be set. with the way you describe it i dont think you should have any problems running 12's. now lets see some vids! lol

I was hoping for my speed to be at least 80mph and I was surprised to hit 86mph. I really didnt expect it at all. Im trying to get the videos uploaded. My laptop is saying I'm missing some codec to play the videos. Gotta figure that out.

Download VLC player or FLV player. They are everywhere for free. VLC is real nice in my opinion and I use it over Media player anyday.

Now back on topic: get some traction in those first two gears and you'll be smokin!

The 93 in my sig ran a 15.56 in the 1/4 with slipping clutch and bad traction. I'll look and see what the 1/8 was and the 60'

I'm curious at where you're getting all that hp from. Has to be 450+ at the wheels.

I am confused also I am only getting to 67 in the 1/8th. I used the hp calculator on another site and punched in my et and speed it said my hp was 230. His sig says that he makes 241hp and a 82 mph 1/8th mile speed way more than me. I raced a guy in an audi when I was at the track last time his 1/8th time was 8.9@81.64 and his 1/4 mile time was 13.86@101.

I am not trying to make anyone mad or anything but I entered your et and hp in an 1/8 mile calculator. I guessed that the truck weighs about 6000 pounds. I know that is probably a little light but just for arguments sake. this is what is says and it dosent make sense. Your HP computed from your vehicle ET is 281.17 flywheel HP and 253.053 rear wheel HP.
Your HP computed from your vehicle MPH is 539.81 flywheel HP and 485.829 rear wheel HP.

That's why it's a calculator and purely theoretical.

His power is far above 241hp, I think that dyno was quite awhile ago.

THat's why it's a theoretical computer, not a real deal. Plus that's gas job HP which is another ball game sort of.

His HP is much higher now. I believe that dyno run was quite awhile ago.
