I just order a 60mm kit from GDS and slap it on, ok.

I just want better low end response, not trying to make a sled puller, and I pull a 18' car trailer once in a while with a car on it.

Anybody do a GDS swap and document it? I'm cornfused where it says the housing is held together with a V-band, IIRC the stock H1C has a giant snap ring?

In the sticky there is a write up on an HTT Stage III/IV install. The GDS 60mm is pretty much the Stage III kit from HTT. Just follow what the sticky says for the Stage III.

the h1c should have a v-band clamp on it. not sure about yours and other i/c'd motors, but mine has a v-band clamp on it.

If your turbo has a big internal snap ring holding the compressor on, it's an HX-35. The H1 series turbos use a big band clamp.

I was thinking of my 98, it had the giant snap ring, I was cornfused. Another question:
Will the wastegated 12cm exhaust housing swap directly on in place of the 18.5cm that is on it now? Or will I need a different exducer?

Yes, the 12 cm will bolt right on. You will need to shove the exhaust system back a little.

OK the question I have is on turbos is the 12cm, 14cm, 16cm, 18.5cm, and the 21cm. Is this measurement the open internal area around the exhaust wheel? Being the larger open area the slower the spool up and the smaller such as the 12cm less area making it a quick spool turbo? Thanks for any info.

That's about it. The smaller area increases the velocity past the turbine.

Thanks a lot Wannadiesel and everyone else for your input. I think I have the game plan set, I had a line on a couple of HX35's, but they all had 200k or more. My H1C has 90k and is tight as a drum and since I'm wanting to stay stock on all my settings this will work out better.
