Down pipe will have to move back about 1.5 inches due to the WG'ed exhaust housing. I'll be doing the same thing on my truck tomorrow after work. Can't wait to actually feel/hear the turbo spool up! "Lagmaster" 21cm housing sucks!!

if you got it at a good price the hx-35 is a good ugrade but don't get rid of the h1c. the hx-35 compressor is an upgrade from our h1c but not a ton. the exhaust with it's 12cm WG housing will be awesome for spool. however if you decide you want to upgrade the compressor farther the hx-35 does not allow you to do so. you can but compressor upgrades for the H1c and the 12cm WG housing from your hx-35 will fit the h1c center chunk. so overall, throw it on there as it is, but keep the h1c incase you want a larger compressor wheel in the future. i will be putting an hx-35 on my 2 trucks. the center and compressor on my 92 with the 16cm housing that's on there. and the 12cm WG on my 91 with the HTT stage III on the compressor side.

also be sure that the turbo is not an HY-35 with the 9cm wg housing.

What will the 12cmWG housing of the HX35 do to EGT on a 89 non-IC engine that is already plagued with too high EGT, especially with frequent very heavy towing??

Thanks.

It will most likely raise the EGT's even more. Sounds like what you need is a Stage 4 compressor upgrade from HTT. This will cut your EGT's several hundred degrees.

You will love the 35. you can up grade the 35 just as easy as the H1C buy using the same company (Its at the top of the same page as the H1C if you look). I have read lots of good things about HTT.
BearKiller You only have to worry about to mutch surge becous you dont have surge ports. just be careful, if you are not turnd up to mutch you should be ok. one other thing we have done is take a later modle 35 or H1C becous they are easyer to find, and cut the V-band ring off and it fits just like yours ( some times you need a larger boot ) but you will have surge ports. then all you need is a intake nose off an 91.5-93 they use the same filter box but have a bigger intake on the compressor. surge ports are not a performance part, but more of a safety part. I know two guys that broke the shaft and trashed turbos becouse of surging. P.S. straight shot for shavings to the engen.
