pyro's in

went in pretty easy. seemed like it went a little deep though. not sure. did a search on egt's, sounds like anything less than 1000 or so(sustained) is OK. i'm seeing about 850 rolling at prolly 60-65 and about 4-5 psi. highest i got it to was +-1125. BUT, it took 2'08" to get TO 300. and everybody is saying not to shut down until below 300. i shut down at 300 and watched as it crept back up to 350 in about a minute. i guess i will have to turn the pump down a little? or just get 16cm? whadya think?

Did you put it in pre or post turbo?

Post turbo takes longer to cool down than pre-turbo (and longer to heat up, too).

Post turbo max is around 1000*, depending on your housing size.

Pre turbo max is less than 1300.

400 is getting too hot for shut-down. 300 is safe. 350 is okay . . . but cool down time is not really affected by your pump settings directly.

The numbers you have look fine. You actually have room to turn the pump UP a little bit. The pyro is going to jump up a little after you shut down because the exhaust is cooler than the manifold. Once the exhaust stops flowing, the manifold heats the air/exhaust inside which shows up on the pyro. That's why you shouldn't shut off at 350 on the gauge, because the gauge is showing the temp of the exhaust, not the temp of the manifold/turbo.

Not really anything to worry about. If it was over 1,100 steady that would be something to worry about.

Turning the pump up or down won't do anything for cruise temps, it still takes the same amount of power (fuel) to do 65 mph, so the temps won't change. If you want to lower it, the 16 cm housing will give you more boost and drop the temps a little.
